Brief info

Dyzhane Bellamy was born in Atlanta, Georgia where she was raised with her three (3) siblings. Born to a mother who survived a near fatal accident who was crushed between two cars as a pedestrian and miraculously survived, Ms. Bellamy’s childhood and life experience reflects a clear indication of God’s favor and grace in her life. Miraculously, her mother regained the ability to walk, talk and fully operate despite the doctor’s uncertainty. Although she was diagnosed with a permanent brain injury and had metal placed within her body, Ms. Bellamy’s mother reflected an armor of resilience and raised her and her siblings while pursuing multiple college degrees.

Unfortunately, this incident led to a childhood of hardship and socio-economic disadvantages. At the age of thirteen (13), Ms. Bellamy moved to Polk County, Florida where she was raised by her Grandparents. Her Grandmother, an educator, pioneer and community activist, has a continued impact on her life which has greatly contributed to Ms. Bellamy’s success.

Ms. Bellamy is a proud alumna of Bethune-Cookman University where she graduated cum laude with a Bachelors of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Legal Studies. During her education journey, Ms. Bellamy was an active leader and served on the executive board of several professional organizations which includes: President of Alpha Phi Sigma Honors Society, Secretary of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, President of the Criminal Justice Association, Student Advisory Committee, Debate Society and N.A.B.C.J. Her academic success and campus involvement earned her an award for “Outstanding Leadership in the College of Liberal Arts” and placed on the President’s List for several semesters. She proudly served as an Associate Justice for the Student Conduct Judicial Board where she advocated on behalf of students to ensure fair and just dispositions. In 2015, she earned the title of Miss Homecoming.

After graduation, Ms. Bellamy entered Florida A&M University College of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate degree. While in law school, she was a student ambassador and served on the executive board for several organizations such as: Women’s Law Caucus and BLSA. SRBLSA, Finance and the Economics Law Student Association. She also participated in the Frank A. Schreck Moot Court Competition. While in law school, she also pursued personal endeavors. She personally founded and created a mobile app for the minority beauty industry. She also pioneered a financial investment team where she taught several individuals the skillsets of investing in the stock market to help increase financial literacy.

Upon graduation, Ms. Bellamy relocated to Polk County to practice Criminal Law at a private Criminal Defense firm. During this period, she significantly contributed to her childhood community through her passion for justice and advocacy. She also gained insightful trial experience where she tried jury trials that ranged in complexity from misdemeanors to felonies.

Ms. Bellamy later relocated to Tampa, Florida with her family. While in Tampa, she practiced Insurance Defense where she represented corporations in complex civil litigation, encompassing all facets of general liability matters, insurance coverage and extra-contractual matters.

Ms. Bellamy continues to reside in Tampa with her family and is an Associate at Black Rock Trial Lawyers where she continues her legal journey practicing Personal Injury, Civil Rights and Complex Civil Litigation in State and Federal Court.

The knowledge Ms. Bellamy gained has shaped her into the analytical and open-minded thinker she is today which puts her at an advantage when strategizing to advocate for her clients. Ms. Bellamy prides herself on being well-rounded and adaptable. She believes her eagerness to learn, ability to diversify and ability to build clients' trust plays a vital role in her effectiveness as an advocate.

During her free time, she enjoys volunteering, reading, skating and spending quality time with her family and friends.
